      Introduction

Stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) represents approximately one-third of NSCLC at the time of diagnosis in China. Due to the complex and heterogeneous nature of stage III NSCLC, the data in clinical practice is very limited. This prospective, non-interventional study was designed to assess treatment patterns and clinical outcomes in Chinese patients with treatment-naïve stage III NSCLC in real world setting.

      Methods

700 eligible consecutive stage III NSCLC patients will be enrolled. Patients will be assigned to two cohorts based on whether they received surgery according to physician’s judgement. Patients without surgery (estimate N=500), defined as unresectable stage III NSCLC, will be enrolled in Cohort 1; while patients undergoing surgery (estimate N=200), defined as resectable stage III NSCLC, will be enrolled in Cohort 2. Data of baseline, molecular testing, treatment patterns and clinical outcomes will be collected. The primary endpoint is treatment patterns of unresectable stage III NSCLC. Secondary endpoints include molecular testing (EGFR/ALK/PD-L1) patterns and factors for treatment choice of stage III NSCLC; clinical outcome, incidence and time to onset of radiation pneumonitis of unresectable stage III NSCLC; adjuvant treatment patterns of resectable stage III NSCLC. The first patient had been enrolled in July 2019, last patient last visit will be at March 2023. (NCT04023812).
